We’ve recently gone from releasing The Laundry on Fridays to Sundays and Adreanna is hard at work crafting something beautiful for your weekend.
In the meantime, I have something fun for you: an edition of Extra Laundry, which is our semi-monthly extra perk for paid subscribers where we bring in special guests.
A few months back, Jon Kohrs reached out to ask if I’d be interested in taking a look at his book Horribly Lovely. Based on the title alone, I said yes.
Shortly thereafter, we met up and found such common ground in the type of spiritual writing we do: raw, vulnerable, honest and yes, messy. Jon has an interesting style which is highly confessional, more than I’ve ever been willing to do, but he doesn’t shy away from putting himself out there and saying, “Here’s what I’ve learned from my mistakes.” This, I feel, is a valuable lesson for us all.
The two of us connected a second time for a half hour conversation about being a mess (and being okay), the power of creating spiritual writing and how to navigate the hardest parts of ourselves. I’m sharing the recording of our time together below.
