This is my 1st season watching the show. We were in Koh Samui for our daughter’s wedding on 2000. Such a beautiful place. I love your analysis of the show and the characters, perfect! Can’t wait for the final episode.

There’s more space in your mind to be in touch with something else then! 🌺

And I bet you’re perfectly happy about that! (But it is a crazy fun show!)

Kathryn — I was also in Koh Samui in 2000… mid to late summer / early fall? Did we have overlapping timelines?

No we were there in Feb right before the pandemic! We stayed on the far less expensive side ig the island but the wedding was at the Conrad Hilton, right near the resort on the show. Beautiful wasn’t it?

I realize that didn’t make sense. We were there on 2020 😊

Piper’s eye roll dismissal as she watches her brother eat. Chelsea’s pragmatic answer when Saxon asks where to get a drink, “Go up to the bar.” The two scenes reinforce your theory.

This is a perfect read. My husband and I have watched every season, but this one has hit home for so many of the reasons you’ve cited, especially for my inner Piper. I’ve tried explaining it to my non-Buddhist husband but it’s lofty stuff. I’m going to send him this now.

See you on the heating pad tonight and then back here tomorrow to freak out. Mike White will kill off at least one character and I’m not ready.

Gahhh! Thanks Laura! I’m also not at all ready for whatever bonkers ending we’re in for tonight. I’m currently in Scotland, so have to wait an entire day (!!!) after it airs to watch. I’ll be avoiding the internet entirely tomorrow. Digital cleanse! Very White Lotus! 🙃 (Enjoy!)

Ohhh Adreanna, hold on to your heating pad, sister. It’s WILD. No spoilers. I can’t wait to see what you think about it, both from an OMG WHAT?! perspective and also Buuuuuddhism. Holy Saṃsāra, Batman. My jaw is still on the floor.

The strongest identities are maybe those which are the most fluid. Separate, I think, from one’s character (not like “Piper character”… just character) I’m not sure who I am becoming… but I’d like to think my character is pretty linear. My identity and my character are both based on my beliefs- but does one exist without the other -or are they independent - like “side by side pals” who occasionally go in opposite directions? Don’t worry, you’re not actually confused reading this -there’s no actual puzzle answer or relevancy really to today’s Laundry - I don’t even know what I set out to say. So there you have it. ❤️

Yes! I love the stream of consciousness grappling. Big concepts, big questions, all provoked by a Sunday night TV show. Thank you! 🌺
